Quaker Camp 2019 is in a lovely location near Ringstead Bay in Dorset, within very easy walking distance of the beach!
We invite you to join us for a communal camp where various Friends/friends and family camp and work together. Everyone brings their own tent but we live together for the week; cooking, eating and doing activities together. Adults and children (apart from the really little ones!) all have various jobs on camp; from preparing vegetables to cooking breakfast to handling tools. We use the same equipment tents and marquee as Bristol Quaker Camp and this year we are following them so all this will be setup for us. Everyone will need to help at the end of the week to take these tents down.
All food and activities are provided for the week. We have things that need doing each day on Camp to ensure the smooth running but once these are done then various activities are arranged. These may include; visiting the beach, going on walks, camp fires/singing camp fire songs, toy boat races, table tennis tournaments, etc. If you have a particular skill or activity you think would be good to bring to Camp then please let us know!
You don’t have to be a Quaker to come. There is a Quaker Meeting held every day which we’d love you to attend and we try to live simply, in line with Quaker ideals. If you feel you can support this you’d be very welcome.
Costs are £100-£120 per adult for the entire week, £80 for 9-13yrs, £55 for 4-8yrs, under 3s free. If costs are an issue then bursaries are available.
The deadline for applications this year is 1st June 2019. If you’d like some more information or would like to apply please contact Nicola Müller, email@example.com or phone 01453 297781 to discuss.
As part of the process for coming to camp we do ask new campers to provide two referees. This is just to make sure that Camp is a safe place to be for everyone, after all you’re likely to be partaking in activities with everyone at camp. All under 18’s need to attend camp with their parent or guardian.
